  1. Stouffer's Derek says:

Word on the street is, girls go crazy for an Englishman. Dougy is a heart-warming and multi-faceted character with endless depths of personality and character to explore. If ever a chainsawsuit character should get his own spin-off, it would be him. COMING SOON: Dougy and (business) Friends.

It will run for four seasons, and spawn a host of hit catch phrases, such as:

“If a man wants peanut butter,he’ll ask for it”

“Coleslaw’ll make me hang up the phone, nine times outta ten!”

    “Nothin’ better than ranch, son.”

These will be printed on poorly made t-shirts and worn by “hip” joggers after the show is cancelled.

  2. Kyle_Douglas says:

Only 12 points in Mime/Star. So Mikey beat me by 2.
But, I'm way better than Kris at Clancy/Proverb/Show. 20 points!
Missed: Every Man a Tiger, Cyberspy, One is the Lonliest Number, and The Great Race.
Successfully guessing the pre-warned "one is two things" now lists among my greatest accomplishments πŸ˜‰

The helicopter bit is the new high bar for effects on the show, I'd say. I'm definitely switching from Downton Abbey to Wild Goose Gate. I wonder if Mikey watches Torchwood, "Miracle Day" delved into quite a few of the subtopics he was bringing up in regards to prolonged life in interesting ways.

Audio-splice: Kris: "Make my brother make out with me" — "There's no honor in what we've done."
Kris also snagged my biggest laugh with his tearful salute to America's Drive-In. So he's the Douglas MVP of ChainsawBowl XLI.

One negative note: The hastily added Patrick Seymour Hoffman dedication felt a bit awkward when there was a joke about somebody dying about 30 seconds later : /
Fortunately, we later learned this was Dougie. Which I had nothing to do with. There was totally enough room for two Dougs in ChainsawTown.

Quickie Photoshop of the Week: There was only one obvious option.

    • MikeyNeumann says:

We put it in because we are both huge fans of Philip Seymour Hoffman. The episode was recorded last Thursday and presented as it was recorded.

      • Kyle_Douglas says:

Yeah, absolutely. I was just pointing out that it was an unfortunate coincidence. Not a huge deal; it just made me cringe a bit when I heard the joke due to the placement. The episode was otherwise spectacular. The dedication may have been a better fit at the end… even if that would have meant closing the show on a somber note.

On a less somber note: Shout-outs to Morpheus' Nessun Dorma and Kris' hometown's win tonight.

        • MikeyNeumann says:

Man, that Nessun Dorma ad made me jump out of my chair. I was like "HOLY SHIT!" and then since none of my friends listen or watch the podcast, they had no idea why I reacted to it.

          I need new friends.

          • @giggleloop says:

I had a similar reaction, I laughed out loud & started singing along. My dog looked at me like I was crazy. She has no appreciation for opera, apparently.

          • Kyle_Douglas says:

Aw, this simply won't do. I can't allow such an injustice to stand for someone who brings The Chainsawsuit Crusaders an hour of top-notch entertainment week in and week out.

Therefore, using cutting edge Tumblr technology I have prepared a 94.3% accurate Kyle Douglas Friendship Simulator. Simply leave it running on a phone or tablet and it should solve your described problem: http://i.imgur.com/Voj3wlY.gif

    • Kyle_Douglas says:

Gah, I hate replying to myself (and commenting so much in general), but you can't edit a post once it's been replied to and I feel like I need to correct this:
How the hell did I type "Patrick Seymour Hoffman"?

The answer is almost certainly because I was looking at Patrick Stewart's Twitter feed earlier and had that name mulling around in my mind.
Nonetheless, apologies and respects to Philip Seymour Hoffman.

  3. Stouffer's Derek says:

Yes. Yes. Good games, I enjoyed those very much.

  4. Stouffer's Derek says:

Also, thanks for giving me the fright of my life when I logged into youtube and saw Kris’ mime face. And, a second fright when I realised that no mime face was featured in the episode. Or is it just me who can see his true face? The mystery remains unsolved.

    • frostyplum says:

I had to investigate this weirdness, too. This means at some point after the podcast, Kris put on mime makeup and took his picture (or Mikey took it for him on Skype) so's he could be the part 3 frontispiece. And this is why I love chainsawsuit.

      • LMcCJ says:

I don't think there is a snowball's chance that Kris put on that make-up. His Mary-Kay days are over. PhotoShop, or whatever people use nowadays.

  5. @giggleloop says:

In answer to your accent sexiness question, Mikey – all of the accents. Except maybe German, that one, not so much. But otherwise, yes.

Kris's French is amazing also. :)

  6. @giggleloop says:

Another great episode, guys! The games were super fun.

Since we're on the topic of accent sexiness, hearing names pronounced properly (especially Italian), is undeniably hot.

(Yes, basically I'm Jamie Lee Curtis from A Fish Called Wanda. Don't judge me. More accents, please. ;). )

    • frostyplum says:

Second on the Fish Called Wanda Syndrome. I got it bad with British Isles and French, so this 'cast was right in my wheelhouse. My friend has it with Russian, so I guess she's more Wanda than I? I'll take it.

  7. frostyplum says:

I loved both these games! Great shoutout to Legend of the Seeker, one of my favorite bad fantasy shows. I could have sworn Sam Raimi had something to do with it – it's that kind of show – but IMDb says I'm wrong.

Mikey, not only do I choose an English accent (the New Zealand accent just sounds like nerdy Australian to me), I'll go you one better by pinpointing Cockney. You do one oddly sexy Scrooge. Although…how's your Scottish?

The helicopter bit was also extremely well done. It amazes me, the lengths you go to to flesh out this hour of basically trying to make each other laugh, which in itself is adorable. On a more serious note, thanks just for doing this week after week, out of your own schedules, for no compensation besides our slavish comments. I'm going through a really tough time right now, and you guys make me forget all the crap going down in my life. You two are the tops.

  8. MikeyNeumann says:

    Just because we're all friends:

Finger on the pulse, ladies and gents. Finger. On. The. Pulse.

  9. @monsata says:

17 points in canceled show/Tom Clancy/Chinese proverb, and 16 points in mime vs porn star but I'll be honest, half of the latter were lucky guesses. Also, the games are awesome, but I'm torn, they could be great, but could become too much of a good thing.

I, too, flipped out at the Morpheus commercial, much to my girlfriend's confusion.

And I have it on good authority that Irish is a ridiculously sexy accent, but a lot of it depends on what is said, whereas utter gibberish said in French is sexy as hell.

  10. Daphnetrodon says:

Kris choose-ed my topic! I feel so proud. Especially when the topic weighed against mine was so much more interesting and poignant. I thought to myself, "well, that's a much better question than I had so I hope they pick that one instead" and then we got BOTH. Thanks for being kind enough to think about mine a little, too – even though picking the question from Jeff would have been more than enough. (It was nice to know my question was a good one, too – I just have been reading the Broodhollow comments and wondering how many people are actually guessing more correctly than any of us know.) Now I have the added confidence I need to face life with a smile (and submit more topics, I guess?)! Thanks, Chainsawsuit PodcastTM!

  11. JustinBlastit says:

Thank you very much, guys. I look forward to the new videos every week. I enjoyed the quiz segments a lot.
The short video of clips from the podcast was a good idea – I was looking for something shareable to show friends what the show is like.

Will you ever bring back the chainsawsuit intro music? The outro music is stellar. I liked how the show used to end _and_ start with a bang: Yo Kris let's blast it

Speaking of porn: You know that game to find your porn-name, right? <name of first pet> + <place of birth>

  12. Benjamin says:

Your talk about body modification/enhancement reminded me of a book called Machine Man by Max Barry. Incredibly good book that I think you'd like, Mikey :)

  13. Qmzn says:

I like the new quiz show, and might try my own spin on it with friends. Maybe "Video Game, Folk Tale, or Fan Fiction". Rainbow Six: Rogue Spear, video game, The Sixth Rogue and the Rainbow Spear, folk tale, Six Rainbows: Spear of the Rogue Leprechaun, my WIP Lucky Charms fanfiction.

Proud member of the "I Killed Again™ Club", established 1984. Much of my success in life can be attributed to the club motto, "Grab a shovel, there's always room in the backyard."

I watched, I ate Taco Cabana, I enjoyed both. Got that Cabana Bowl, no shell, borracho beans. Not much else to say besides that. Good show.

  14. LMcCJ says:

17.5 pts on Show/Novel/Proverbs (I gave myself the same 1/2 point Mikey gave Kris)
16 pts on Mime/Porno (very proud that I did worse on this one)

BBC Latin America commercial, "Made in America" –Kris That was good.

Loved the Super Hero Scissors Glasses. I'm guessing Kris's options were that, packing peanuts or duct tape. Good choice.

*whispers* Now you've both had a nose-related issue on-air. I suggest you think about how you're going to handle these things in the future, in, perhaps, a more delicate manner.

  15. Kalen says:

As a relative newcomer to the Coleslaw Suite Podcast, I did enjoy "Tom Clancy Novel, Chinese Proverb, or Cancelled TV Show". Bring it back… Not right away, but bring it back. "Best Selling book title, or made for TV movie" might be fun.

  16. Josh Lewis says:

    Another good one, thanks guys!

  17. @Facelesscog says:

So awesome to hear (and see, I guess, thanks to Youtube) my topic being discussed! If it matters to anybody…and just because I like to brag about it…I was the guy whose leg Jerry hoisted (in the fashion of The Lion King) at PAX East and the guy who stood up to give Mike a hug (also at PAX East, and featured on PATV)

Been loving the podcast since the beginning, guys. Keep up the good work!
(Kris: I still have your autograph on the back of my old wheelchair! Should have thought that one through, though. Now that I've moved on to a different chair, I have yet to figure out a good way to display the autographs that I collected on the back of that chair's seat.)

  18. ThomasG says:

great episode – i liked the quizzes. and lava eyes, resulting in spiderfriends.

  19. Piels says:

I would battle Lav-Eyes with my power to control eyewear. My name would be The Spectacle.

  20. Matthew says:

My wife begged me in her Fifth Element impression voice to tell you that she got 18 points on the Showclancynese quiz and that you are hilarious. Thank you.

  21. Señor James says:

uuuuuuuuuaaaaah jesus christ the bad spanish
i love the show and literally every other second of this episode
but the spanish made me want to die
