hey guys, i'm not making fun of rape. that is awful. i'm making fun of lifetime television and their tv movies that crank up the drama by creating an unbeatable scenario for the star/victim of the movie.

a couple weeks ago we watched a lifetime movie where a dentist was feeling up his patients under anesthesia. he was menacing, almost leprechaun-like in his powers of cruel menace. it wasn't enough that he molested his patients. he had to go to their houses at night and rap on the window, somehow selectively only waking up his victim and not her husband sleeping six inches away, then freaking her out.

later, our heroine told her husband about the dentist and the crime. the husband got really pissed off, guys. i can't even tell you why. he did not have a human reaction to what happened, and it was only so the heroine would have a tougher fight on her hands. the dentist had total control of the situation. it's like she was raped by mr. mxyzptlk.

anyways, of course she proves it somehow and then the husband reconciles with her. but man, why do guys always have to look dumb on there? and seriously, if your husband is upset that you were assaulted, you really don't need to reconcile with him.
